HUNTING AND FISHING
REGULAR LICENSES

Regular hunting and fishing licenses may be purchased at at one of the Tax Collector's Service Centers.

These licenses are also available
online over the telephone.

Replacements for lost or destroyed hunting and fishing licenses are available at one of the above referenced Tax Collector's Offices. A lost or destroyed license or 5 year license may be replaced for $2.00. A lost or destroyed lifetime license may be replaced for $10.00.

Lifetime and 5 year hunting and fishing licenses are available in Polk County only at the Tax Collector's
Service Centers.

Florida residents may purchase resident hunting and fishing licenses as well as the annual sportsman license. The annual sportsman license covers freshwater fishing, hunting, management area permits, turkey stamp, state duck stamp, archery permit and muzzleloader permit. The sportsman license does not include federal duck stamps.

Note: To qualify for any resident hunting and fishing license proof of residency is required. You must provide Date of Birth along with any one of the following for proof of residency:


  • Florida DL# (Florida ID not acceptable)
  • Customer ID# (number already in TLS system)
  • Social Security # & FL Homestead Exemption
  • Social Security # & FL Voter Registration
  • Social Security # & FL Landlord Certification
  • Social Security # & FL Military Orders
  • Social Security # & FL Student ID Card - 18 or Under
  • Social Security # & Parents Proof of Residency

    Also Note: Non-resident hunting and fishing licenses may be purchased by anyone.
Persons born on or after June 1, 1975 cannot purchase a hunting license unless they show proof of successful completion of a hunter education safety course. Contact the local Game & Freshwater Fish Office, in Lakeland, for the dates of Hunter Safety Classes. Their telephone number is (863) 648-3203.

Children under the age of 16 are allowed to hunt under the supervision of an adult without having completed the hunter education course.

Applications for resident freshwater commercial fishing licenses are submitted to the
Florida Fish And Wildlife Conservation Commission in Tallahassee and may be obtained from one of the Tax Collector's Service Centers.
