Lost Or Stolen
Tags & Decals
If your tag and/or decal
has been lost or stolen, you must contact your local law enforcement
agency to report the loss or theft prior to making application for a
replacement.
The registered owner of
the vehicle may apply for a replacement tag and/or decal.

Walk-in customers who plan to complete this
application in our office should bring their vehicle registration or
the number of the lost or stolen tag.
The cost to replace a
lost tag is 43.15 and to replace a lost decal is $40.35.
There is no cost to
replace a stolen tag and
decal.

Lost Registrations
If you have lost your vehicle
registration, a duplicate may be issued.
The license plate
number, decal number or vehicle identification number is required
for the issuance. Duplicate registrations are issued at any
Tax
Collector's Office.
The fee for replacement is
$5.50.

Duplicate Titles
The registered owner or
lienholder on record for a vehicle may apply for a duplicate title.
An application must be completed in detail and may be submitted to
any Tax
Collector's Office.

The fee for a duplicate vehicle
or mobile home title is $78.75; and,
The fee for a duplicate
vessel (boat) title is $9.00.
If there is an outstanding lien,
only the lienholder may apply for a duplicate title. If the lien has
been satisfied, a lien satisfaction form should be
presented.
If the title was from another
state, you must apply for the duplicate title through the motor
vehicle division of that
state.

Long-Term & Temporary Disabled Parking Placards
There is no charge to replace a lost or stolen parking placard. However, an accurately completed form HSMV 83146, Application For Replacement License Plate, Validation Decal, or Parking Permit, is required.

In addition, an applicant requesting replacement of a permanent parking placard will also need to submit HSMV Form 83039, Application For Disabled Person Parking Permit, issued to the disabled applicant and signed by a certifying medical authority within the last 12 months.
