Background: Back in April of 2000, the Tax Collector’s Haines City Branch Office temporarily moved from the Polk County Courthouse Annex so the county could undertake building renovations. However, before the renovations began the county decided to permanently close that location. Since then the Tax Collector’s Branch Office has be operating out of a temporary trailer at 900 Lily Ave.
Moving to a permanent location allows the Tax Collector’s Office to upgrade its services as follows:
The Branch Office location is more easily accessible to its customers in the greater Haines City area, including the fast growing Four Corners area;
Branch Office computers will now be able to tie into a high speed network that will improve user inquiry and transaction speeds;
The Branch Office can begin providing fast title service, which allows customers, upon approval and payment of fees, to get a title at the time of application; and,
The new Branch Office also features improved customer service stations, lobby area, restrooms and the addition of a public meeting room.
