DEADLINE TO RECEIVE 4% PROPERTY TAX DISCOUNT APPROACHES Tuesday November 30th Is Deadline 11/23/10 - BARTOW The Tax Collector reminds property owners that next Tuesday is the last day to take advantage of the 4% discount. Payments must be postmarked or conducted online on or before November 30 to receive the discount rate. Taxpayers may also pay in person by Tuesday at one of the Tax Collector's Branch Office locations, to take advantage of the maximum discount. Payments postmarked after the November 30 deadline will not qualify for the 4% rate. Discount rates decrease one percentage point each month until March, at which time the full tax amount is due. Property tax bills become delinquent after March 31. Property owners who do not mail-in their payments may choose to pay online at www.PolkTaxes.com or visit one of the following Tax Collector Branch Office locations: BARTOW Branch Office - 430 E. Main Street, Bartow LAKELAND Branch Office - Polk County Government Center, 930 E. Parker Street, Lakeland HAINES CITY Branch Office - 74 Maxcy Plaza Circle, Haines City LAKE WALES Branch Office - Polk County Government Center, Lake Wales Plaza, 642 State Road 60 West, Lake Wales Finally, tax payments may be placed in drop boxes located inside the branch offices at the above locations and at the Winter Haven Tag Agency, located at 300 Avenue M, N.W. Normal office hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (excluding weekends and holidays).
