RELEASE DATE: October 26, 2026

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Property owners across Polk County can expect to receive their tax bills in the mail soon. However, the 2026 Property Tax Notice is already available through the Tax Collector’s site, at www.PolkTaxes.com! By paying early during the month of November, property owners can take advantage of a 4% discount on what’s owed.
These tax bills will not be affected by the outcome of the November election regarding Amendment 3. If passed, Amendment 3 will apply to a future tax year. The 2026 Property Tax Notice is the bill for the 2026 tax year.
Tax Collector Joe Tedder encourages taxpayers to access their bills and make payments online, and to take advantage of the discounts offered for paying early. The discount for payments made in November is 4%, December is 3%, January is 2%, and February is 1%. Taxes are due in March, delinquent on April 1.
“I urge everyone who can to pay early, because discounts apply to those early payments,” Tax Collector Tedder said. “These discounts like the 4% in November can mean big savings for people. We hope it helps,” he continued.
“It’s also important to know,” Tedder added, “Florida law says taxpayers have the responsibility to pay what they owe even if their bill gets lost in the mail and doesn’t make it to their mailbox. So, please reach us if you need to have your bill resent, by mid-November, or go online to our website and look up your bill that way.”
Anyone who does not have access to find their bill(s) online and has not received theirs by mail by November 12 should call (863) 534-4700.
Property owners who are set up with an installment plan, however, will not receive their tax bills until late November when they are notified that their third-quarter payment is due.
