POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Polk County Tax Collector Joe G. Tedder announces his office locations will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. This includes all service center locations (Bartow, Davenport, Lake Alfred, Lake Wales, Lakeland) and the Call Center. The Tax Collector’s regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Memorial Day gives us a time to pause to remember and honor the brave service members who so selflessly gave all in service to our country,” Tax Collector Tedder remarked.
Polk County residents in need of renewing vehicle registrations on Memorial Day can still do so using the KIOSK service available at the Grove Park Publix location in Lakeland.
The Tax Collector’s tag agency partners First Lakeland Tag Agency, Express Auto Tags of North Lakeland and Express Auto Tags of Winter Haven will be closed on Memorial Day but remain open for regular Saturday hours on May 23, 9 a.m. to noon.
