Polk Tax Collector Office’s Software System Upgrades Require Upcoming Closures

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – The Office of the Tax Collector for Polk County (TCPC) is upgrading its software system, to include cashiering and payment processing systems, to better support customers and serve the community. The new software will require office-wide closures.

  • Tax Collector locations will be closed early, at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday February 5.
  • Tax Collector locations will be closed Friday, February 13, and Monday, February 16.

Although offices will be closed to the public during this time, dedicated Tax Collector staff will be at work for training. Tax Collector Joe G. Tedder extends his heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience the closures may cause.

“We have been working on this project for the past several years and look forward to going live!” Tedder said.

For customers in need of tag/title service during the closure, the Tax Collector’s private tag agency partners Express Auto Tags of North Lakeland, First Lakeland Tag Agency, and Express Auto Tags of Winter Haven offer services like vehicle registration renewals, title transfers, and parking placards. These locations bring extended weekday hours, Saturday hours, and will remain open throughout the Tax Collector Office closure. Additionally, KIOSK service is available in the Grove Park Publix store in Lakeland and inside the Polk County Government Center located at 200 Government Center Blvd., Haines City. Customers in need of Driver License services should visit the State’s ‘MyDMV Portal.’ Visit: https://mydmvportal-flhsmv.my.site.com/

Online tax payment services will be available throughout the February 5 closure but will be interrupted during the software update from February 13 – 16; however, online registration renewal services will be available during this time.
