Polk County Tax Collector’s Office to Close for Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday

BARTOW, Fla. – The Office of the Tax Collector for Polk County’s (TCPC) offices will be closed this Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday! Regular hours will resume on Monday, November 27.

Additionally, TCPC’s tag office partners Winter Haven Legion Tag Agency and First Lakeland Tag Agency will be closed during this time. (First Lakeland Tag Agency’s holiday closures include Saturday, November 25.)

Tax Collector Joe G. Tedder would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! “We are thankful that we have the opportunity to serve you,” he says.

If customers need to renew their vehicle registrations while offices are closed this Friday (November 24), KIOSK services will still be available at the Grove Park and Plantation Square Publix locations in Lakeland.

The Tax Collector reminds property owners they can still take advantage of the 4% discount on property taxes through November 30! Beginning December 1, the discount drops to 3%.

Payments through mail must be postmarked by Thursday, November 30, at the latest. For online payments, customers can get the discounted 4% rate through 11:59 p.m. on November 30. TCPC also accepts walk-in or drop-off payments, for the special rate, at service center locations until 5:00 p.m., November 30.
