LAKE ALFRED, Fla. — The Office of the Tax Collector for Polk County (TCPC) is pleased to announce Saturday hours will be available for those in need of a road test on October 28, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at its Lake Alfred service center location.
Customers should note that appointments are required in order to secure one of the 50 road tests to be held then. In order to make an appointment, visit: www.PolkTaxes.com.
The recent population growth across Polk County has caused a high demand for road tests, with appointments booking far in advance of available test dates; this is one reason the Office of the Tax Collector will open for limited Saturday hours, exclusively to Polk County residents, at the new Lake Alfred location on October 28!
Road test appointments can be made at www.PolkTaxes.com on a first come first served basis.
“We continue to look for ways we can meet customers’ needs sooner!” Polk County Tax Collector Joe G. Tedder said.
“I hope these upcoming Saturday hours can be useful to anyone needing to take a Road Test,” he continued.
The Lake Alfred Service Center location, at 200 Government Center Boulevard in Lake Alfred, features our unique enclosed road course. The course makes for a safe experience for both testers and test-takers.
“Because we always put the safety of our road testers and test-takers first, this new enclosed course in Lake Alfred is the perfect place to hold these Saturday tests,” Tedder explained, “when in other locations, there could be increased traffic that threatens safety.”
*Our Saturday services will be limited to Road Tests at this time, by appointment only, to Polk County residents exclusively. Customers with existing road test appointments who wish to be seen sooner, by securing an October 28 appointment in Lake Alfred, will be able to do so by making an appointment online for this date (while appointments are available).
