POLK COUNTY, Fla. – The Office of the Polk County Tax Collector will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. All Tax Collector locations will resume regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Tuesday, January 20.
However, the Tax Collector’s private tag agency partners Express Auto Tags of North Lakeland, First Lakeland Tag Agency, and Express Auto Tags of Winter Haven will remain open on the holiday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Customers in need of vehicle title services or to renew their vehicle registrations on Martin Luther King Day can do so by visiting one of these private tag agencies. Additionally, KIOSK service is available at the Grove Park Publix store in Lakeland.
Because MLK Jr. Day is designated as a National Day of Service, Tax Collector Joe G. Tedder encourages citizens to serve however they can!
