Polk County Tax Collector’s Office Will Be Closed for Veterans Day

BARTOW, Fla. — All Tax Collector for Polk County locations will be closed this Tuesday, November 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., will resume on Wednesday, November 12.

Tax Collector Joe G. Tedder and his staff are grateful for the men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces and are proud to recognize their service with benefits year-round. An explanation of veterans’ benefits is available at www.PolkTaxes.com.

Some benefits and exemptions include:

  • Military specialty license plates
  • ‘V’ Designation on driver licenses and I.D. cards
  • Discounts or exemptions for service-related disabled veterans
  • Hunting & fishing license exemptions may apply
  • Local business tax exemptions may apply
  • Property tax exemptions are secured through the Property Appraiser’s Office at PolkPA.org

Whenever a veteran visits a Polk County Tax Collector service center location and lets a team member know of their service, they will receive a special flag pin as a token of TCPC’s appreciation for their service.

“I am sincerely grateful to the brave men and women who have served our country. It is our pleasure to do what we can to honor their service and sacrifice,” Tax Collector Tedder says.

Anyone in need of immediate tag or title services on Veterans Day may visit Tax Collector tag agency partners Express Auto Tags of North Lakeland, First Lakeland Tag Agency, and Express Auto Tags of Winter Haven. These locations will remain open, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on November 11.
