Tax Collector’s Office Will Be Closed June 21st For Training

Release Date – Wednesday, June 2, 2021:

The Tax Collector’s Office for Polk County reports that its Service Centers will be closed on Monday, June 21, 2021 as part of a new tax computer system installation. We will resume our regular business hours on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.

The American Legion Tag Agency in Winter Haven will also be closed. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.

While the Tax Collector’s Service Centers will be closed on June 21st, staff will engage in an extensive training on the new tax system, which will launch Tuesday, July 6, 2021. The new, user-friendly system will enable staff to provide more seamless and efficient customer service to Polk County’s taxpayers.

Polk County residents in need of renewing their vehicle registrations can still do so using mail and online services. Those needing same day vehicle registration renewal services on June 21st may visit the Kiosks available at the Oakbridge and Grove Park Publix locations in Lakeland. Note: Appointments are required for all driver license, I.D. card, road test, written test, and concealed weapons license application and renewal transactions conducted in our service centers.
