BARTOW, Fla. — The Office of the Tax Collector for Polk County (TCPC) will be closed on Monday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will resume Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
The Tax Collector for Polk County, Joe G. Tedder, wishes everyone a Happy Veterans Day! He is proud to recognize all who served in the U.S Armed Forces by facilitating several benefits to veterans year-round.
“I am sincerely grateful to the brave men and women who gave so much in service to our great country,” Tedder says.
Veterans benefits include:
- Military specialty license plates
- ‘V’ Designation on driver licenses and I.D. cards
- Discounts and/or exemptions for disabled and service-connected disabled veterans
- Hunting & fishing license and county local business tax exemptions may apply
- Property tax exemptions may apply, through the Property Appraiser’s Office at PolkPa.org
An explanation of these benefits can be found at www.PolkTaxes.com. Additionally, when a veteran visits a Polk County Tax Collector service center location and lets a team member know of their service, they will receive a special flag pin as a token of TCPC’s appreciation for their service.
