Polk County Tax Collector’s Office Will Close Friday to Observe Veterans Day

BARTOW, Fla. — The Office of the Tax Collector for Polk County (TCPC) will be closed on Friday, November 10, in observance of Veterans Day. Regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) will resume on Monday, November 13.

Tax Collector Joe G. Tedder recognizes and celebrates all the heroes who have so dedicated their lives in service to the U.S Armed Forces.

“I am so moved and sincerely grateful to the brave men and women who gave so much in service to our great country,” Tedder says.

“In fact, whenever a veteran visits any of our service centers, they may simply let our team know of their service in order to receive a special flag pin as a token of our appreciation,” he offers.

The TCPC facilitates transactions to benefit veterans, year-round, to include:

  • Military specialty license plates
  • ‘V’ Designation on driver licenses and I.D. cards
  • Discounts and/or exemptions for disabled and service-connected disabled veterans
  • Certain property tax, hunting & fishing license, and county local business tax exemptions

Veterans who visit Tax Collector service centers may receive a lapel pin as a small token of gratitude for their service.
