TAX COLLECTOR’S OFFICE TO OPEN NEW SERVICE CENTER IN LAKE ALFRED

LAKE ALFRED, Fla. — The Tax Collector for Polk County, Joe G. Tedder, is thrilled to announce the new Lake Alfred Service Center’s opening! In order to meet the needs of the growing population in Polk County, this will be the Tax Collector’s fifth service center, which includes the first enclosed road course for driving tests.

The new office is slated to open April 25, 2023.

Joe G. Tedder welcomes customers to this beautiful state of the art space, in collaboration with several Polk County government agencies; the Lake Alfred office is located within the new NE Government Center building.

He is happy to serve people in this part of the county like never before, in hopes of making it more convenient for those in the area to secure Tax Collector’s Office services. An additional goal for opening this new location is to provide more opportunity for shorter wait times for services.

Polk County’s population is booming! The county is placed as fifth in the nation in numeric growth by the U.S Census Bureau in its latest report. The Tax Collector’s current service center locations served, on average, approximately 2,000 people a day in March.

“We are excited about this new location and have designed it to focus on Driver License services, in addition to other services we provide,” says Tedder.

“It’s our first enclosed driving range, which will improve safety for new drivers, staff, as well as create efficiencies,” says Tedder.

Customers to the Lake Alfred location will be able to enjoy services to include:

  • Driver License/I.D.
  • Title/Registration
  • Property Tax
  • Written Test
  • Road Test
  • Express Pickup

Tedder adds, “This new beautiful building located in Lake Alfred will be a new asset for the citizens of Polk County.”

Hours of operation for the new center are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Appointments are required for all Driver License, I.D. Card, Written and Road Test services and can be made online now at www.PolkTaxes.com!
